We have Sunday School classes for Adults
and children. The classes start after
worship,
usually about 10:15 a.m.
Children's Sunday School -- We use the Rotational model for our children's
Sunday school program. The material we use
is published by the PC(USA) and is called,
"We Believe: Workshop." The children
explore one story of the Bible through 5
or 6 workshops. The workshops are Art, Worship,
Drama, Games, and Video. Since we are a smaller
church, we do a different workshop each week.
For example, during Advent the children learned
about the shepherds who worshiped the Baby
Jesus. In the workshops they made copper
Christmas tree ornaments, they played instruments
as they sang Christmas hymns, they pretended
to be the shepherds going to worship Jesus,
they played a board game, and they watched
videos about the birth of Jesus. The program
is broadly graded for Kindergarten through
6th grade, although we have some preschool
children attend and we have youth who help
with the program. Our Teachers are: Sonya
Delancey, Karen Slingland, Patty Strawser,
Dana Swartwood, Sue Watts, and Glenn &
Tina Zeitler. The class meets in the Fellowship
Hall.
Adult Sunday School -- Our Adult Sunday School program is lead by Sam Ritzman. The class gets into in depth discussions about the meaning and application of various Bible passages, guided by their Sunday school curriculum. The class meets in the kitchen (near the coffee pot.) |

Women of the ChurchThe Women of the Church are very active at Lost Creek Presbyterian Church. They meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. for devotions and to discuss business. They provide flowers for the worship services, desserts for the Meals on Wheels program, have fellowship dinners throughout the year, and hold fund raising events like selling meat ball subs at the Fayette Carnival, a Salad bar in September, and a Holiday Bazaar in October. The Women support mission through their donations to the Presbyterian Women's Global Mission Fund, through the collection of the Least Coin Offering, and through contributions to specific needs from the funds that they raise. The Officers for 2006 are: Secretary - Patty Strawser. Local Treasurer - Sue Watts. Global Mission Treasurer - Janet Heckman. Meals on Wheels Coordinator - Janet Heckman. Below are some events that the Women of the Church have hosted. Salad Bar - Pictures from the 2002 Salad Bar.
2002 Fayette Township CarnivalDuring the first week of August, Fayette Township holds a carnival in the ball field behind our church. The carnival benefits the Fayette Emergency Services, the ParkOn Saturday there is a large parade featuring marching bands, emergency vehicles, classic cars, farm equipment, and lots of floats sponsored by local organizations. The theme this year was "Going Hawaiian." The TALC youth group entered a float using the theme ALOHA - A Life of Hope Always and used as its verse Romans 15:13a, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace." Along with candy the youth threw bags of dried Hawaiian fruit representing the Fruit of the Spirit. Our float won first place in the Religious Float category. There's more information about the TALC youth group on the youth page. Along with helping out in the church food stand, our members are busy helping in the Main Food Stand, other organizations' booths, and preparing the Chicken Bar-b-que on Saturday morning. This year Sam Ritzman was the announcer for the nightly drawings and Graham was the Emcee for the Parade. |
